Jacob Elordi’s Next Big Move With Olivia Jade Might Just Be Straight Out of Ellen DeGeneres’ Playbook (2025)

Jacob Elordi might be eyeing a more permanent ticket out of Hollywood. The Euphoria heartthrob reportedly wants to move out of Hollywood and bring girlfriend Olivia Jade with him.

“With his effortless good looks and rising profile, you’d think Jacob would love L.A., but that’s just not the case and he refuses to put roots down here,” an insider told OK! Magazine of the Saltburn star. “It’s become just a place where he goes to work and he feels like he still doesn’t quite fit in culturally.”

Cue the mental flashback to Ellen DeGeneres and Portia de Rossi, who famously packed up their California mansion for life abroad. Like DeGeneres and de Rossi, Elordi seems to be eyeing a fresh start with his on-and-off girlfriend since 2022.

Unlike DeGeneres and other celebrities who moved out of Los Angeles, though, Elordi doesn’t seem to be chasing tax breaks or for political reasons. More than anything, it just seems that both he and Jade are a bit over the Hollywood grind.

“She’s just as allergic to the chaos and hustle of Southern California as Jacob is!” the source added. “Jacob is a sensible guy, and he knows that he and Olivia can still make a living no matter where they live, thanks to the magic of streaming and social media.”

Australia is looking like a likely home for the stars, aka Elordi’s home country where he spends his free time. “He only spends time in [California] for business reasons, and nothing about his and Olivia’s relationship is going to change that,” the insider confirmed.

Of course, not everyone is just nodding and waving goodbye. Olivia’s mom, Lori Loughlin, has reportedly been keeping a very close eye on this saga. An insider previously explained that Loughlin wants to make sure Jacob “is in it for the long haul,” and is telling Olivia to “make sure that this relationship is going somewhere” before making any big moves. After all, Loughlin’s seen her daughter date hot Hollywood hunks like Kaia Gerber’s ex – she wants proof this Aussie adventure isn’t a flash in the pan.

So could Jacob & Olivia be pulling an Ellen? If they do, expect sand instead of sand in their Instagrams – kangaroo selfies instead of red carpets. In today’s celebrity playbook, sometimes the real star power move is saying goodbye to stardom’s side effects and settling down somewhere a little more “down to earth.”
